Who are we?
LWUMC’s Mission is to share the love of Christ by: reaching out, accepting people as they are, nurturing and strengthening one another in our living relationship with God and going forth in faithful service and celebration. We welcome all people from all contexts, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, race, culture, age, socio-economic status, or difference in abilities. What does Sunday Worship look like?
Probably the best way to describe the Sunday morning service is one that is rich with liturgy, music, reflection, and communion. The service starts with a processional hymn led by a Bible Bearer and Acolyte. The congregation offers praise weekly to God through the Doxology and Prayer following the offering. Finally, worship is concluded with the Acolyte carrying the flame into the world with the Bible Bearer, followed by a musical postlude. Learn more about our Worship here.
What should I wear?
We have folks comfortable in jeans and tee-shirts, suits and ties, sneakers, dresses, slacks, sandals, shorts, or athletic gear. Needless to say, we run the gamut; so whatever makes you comfortable.
What about my children?
We have Youth (6th thru 12th grade) and Children’s (3-years thru 5th grade) programing that accompanies and compliments our adult service. Learn more about our Children’s Programming here, and our Youth Programming here.
